Publisher’s Note
The launch of Machinery Lubrication India was recently celebrated at the corporate headquarters of Noria Corporation in Tulsa, Okla., (USA), where chief executive officer Jim Fitch unveiled the premiere issue in the presence of the company's management team.
A big thanks to all our subscribers, readers and advertisers for your overwhelming response to our recent inaugural issue of Machinery Lubrication India. The magazine has been well received, and we are encouraged by the very good reviews. Some of you have also written to us regarding additional topics that can be covered to make the publication more comprehensive.
With these reader suggestions in mind, we have decided to periodically include a section on base oil statistics. India is a net importer of base oils, which are used for manufacturing lubricants. This section will cover data on importers, quality, quantity and prices of base oils being imported by companies in India. This should come in handy for readers in understanding the market dynamics of various lubricants.
Besides the new section on base oils, we are also happy to introduce another article by Sudhir Singal on “The Future of Lubricants”. We encourage more readers to contribute articles and case studies pertaining to their areas of work.
Our cover story "5 Lubrication Myths That are Costing You Money" is a very informative article that is easy to implement at your work place. Like in our day-to-day lives, there are many myths in the world of lubrication also. If not debunked, these myths can cost our organizations large amounts of money. Some of the top myths are that original equipment manufacturer hardware accessories are satisfactory, filtering new incoming or stored lubricants and periodic decontamination are a waste of time, and the more grease the better. These seemingly harmless misconceptions could be holding your organization back from achieving a world-class lubrication and maintenance strategy.
We wish our readers and advertisers a merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.
